Deputy "Dingo" Visits Coshocton Rotary
Deputy David Stone from the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit and his dog "Dingo" attended the weekly meeting of the Coshocton Rotary Club on Tuesday, August 26th.
"Dingo" is a 3-year old Belgian Malonious. This 58lbs canine and Deputy Stone were both trained in Canton, Ohio in preparation for serving in the Coshocton community. "Dingo," who is expected to remain on the job until he is 9 years old, was purchased and trained through a private donation by citizen, Charlie Bechtol. "Dingo" was born in Holland and imported to the US for his K-9 training.
While at Rotary "Dingo" executed a drug sweep looking for drugs planted in a vehicle in the parking lot. "Dingo" also apprehended a would-be criminal fleeing (Deputy Steve Fox).
"Dingo" spends his entire day with Deputy Stone including nights. Most K-9 dogs say in kennels overnight.
On the job, "Dingo" rides in a specially outfitted K-9 Unit Sheriff's Car complete with temperature sensors and hand held unit that allows the deputy to open "Dingo's" car door if necessary.
Visiting Rotarians/Guests for August 26th - Randy & Carol Long from Arizona; Larry Stoneburner from California; and guests Kirby Hasseman, Eric Guilkey, and Troy Darr.
